WORTMANN Group confirms stable business development

The WORTMANN Group, consisting of over 30 companies, can look back on a successful first half of 2025. Despite a persistently tense overall global economic situation, the Group was able to generate sales of over one billion euros in the first six months of the year. This success is an expression of a clear strategic focus, a broadly diversified positioning and the high level of commitment of all employees - both in Germany and internationally.

"We are proud that we have once again achieved a more than solid result in a challenging market environment," explains Siegbert Wortmann, founder and CEO of WORTMANN AG. "Our innovative strength, the flexibility of our corporate structure and the close cooperation within the Group have once again proven their worth."

In addition to the company's general resilience, the main factors behind the strong half-year result include two specific market influences: Firstly, the imminent end of support for Windows 10 in 2025 has led to a significant increase in demand for new IT infrastructure. Secondly, the five-year period following the coronavirus pandemic means that many companies and private customers are now renewing the hardware they purchased during the pandemic. Both of these factors have contributed to a noticeable increase in IT sales - an effect that WORTMANN AG can optimally exploit thanks to its fast delivery capability and broad product range.

The Group also anticipates a positive business performance for 2025 as a whole. After annual sales of over two billion euros in 2024, the company management expects to be able to increase earnings again this year. This underlines the Group's sustainable growth strategy.

As in previous years, the family-run WORTMANN AG made the largest contribution to the half-year result with sales of around 520 million euros. Other companies within the Group also reported pleasing developments: BAB Distribution GmbH generated around 100 million euros, while Kosatec achieved sales of around 250 million euros. WORTMANN Telecom contributed 60 million euros, and MCD, a company specializing in medical IT solutions, generated around 10 million euros.

The non-IT area of the WORTMANN Group is also stable. With half-year sales of over 80 million euros, WORTMANN Leasing and Factoring with a combined 10 million euros as well as Westfalia Germany and Westfalia USA with around 30 million euros each contributed to the positive development. Other companies such as W&K Gehäusebau, the construction company S+W Bau, TERRA Gebäudetechnik, TERRA Sports and TERRA e-Sports GmbH achieved combined sales of around 10 million euros.

A special highlight of the first half of 2025 was once again the renowned grass tennis tournament TERRA WORTMANN OPEN in Halle/Westphalia. Since 2021, WORTMANN has not only been the namesake of Germany's largest grass court tennis tournament, but also a shareholder of OWL Sport & Event GmbH, which owns the OWL Arena and the Court Hotel, among other things. Over 110,000 spectators and a top-class field of participants with six players from the top 10 of the world rankings made the event one of the sporting highlights of the summer. Numerous companies from the WORTMANN Group used the event for customer and partner relations at the highest level.
