Half-year sales of one billion euros

The WORTMANN Group, consisting of more than 30 companies, can look back with satisfaction on the development of business in Germany and abroad in the first half of 2024. Earnings of around EUR 1 billion were again achieved in the first two quarters. Despite the persistently difficult market situation, the WORTMANN Group is proving robust and resilient. The success in the first six months of the year is a strong testimony to the strategic orientation and commitment of all the Group's employees.

“We are proud of what we have achieved despite the challenges in the market,” says Siegbert Wortmann, founder and CEO of WORTMANN AG. “Our continuous willingness to innovate and the flexibility of our corporate structure have enabled us to achieve solid results and stay on course.”

Expectations for 2024 as a whole are also positive. Group sales in 2023 amounted to over 2 billion euros. The WORTMANN Group expects to close the year just above the previous year's result. This underlines the stable and sustainable growth strategy that the Group is pursuing.

Thanks to its cross-sector orientation and strong position on the German market, the WORTMANN Group is developing within a satisfactory economic framework in 2024. In this context, the family-run WORTMANN AG continues to make the largest contribution with half-year sales of around 480 million euros.

The WORTMANN Group's other shareholdings are located both in the broad IT field and in the non-IT sector. BAB Distribution GmbH with approx. EUR 100m as well as Kosatec with sales of around EUR 250m, WORTMANN Telecom with EUR 50m, Roda as a military IT specialist with EUR 40m and MCD, which specializes in medical solutions, with EUR 10m contribute to the good half-year results of the WORTMANN Group's IT companies.

The half-year volume 2024 in the non-IT area remained stable at over EUR 70 million. Associated companies such as WORTMANN Leasing and Factoring generated combined sales of over EUR 10 million in the first half of the year. Westfalia Germany and Westfalia USA, a provider of automated logistics systems, each generated sales of around EUR 25 million in the first half of 2024.

In addition, W&K Gehäusebau, the construction company S+W Bau, TERRA Gebäudetechnik, TERRA Sports and TERRA e-Sports GmbH also contributed their share of around EUR 10 million to the overall result.

The highlight of the first half of the year was the 31st TERRA WORTMANN OPEN in Halle/Westphalia. Since 2021, Wortmann AG has also been the namesake of what is probably the largest and most important grass tennis tournament in Germany. A top-class field of participants with six top 10 players and over 100,000 spectators made the tournament a fantastic seven-day event. Many Wortmann Group companies invited numerous customers and partners to the event.
